John Haak

Whether it goes fast, goes high or is just looks fast standing still, if it attracts a crowd, John Haak will be there to handle revenue generation. John is the Director of "Loud Fast and Shiny" for Red Frog Events. John has assisted the: The Indianapolis Motor speedway NHRA, NASCAR, Barrett-Jackson, Goodguys rod and Custom shows, Oshkosh, Sun N Fun, Reno, Miramar, and over 450 airshows in person. He is willing to share some of his experiences as you delve into planning, selling and securing revenue generation plans and operations.

John is on the Board of Directors of ICAS and functions as the Regional Liaison. “Once you get over the fact that it is a cool event, you really get down to the business basics, Selling Admissions. Sponsorships and Nourishment". With Red Frog, the new emphasis is on attracting and satisfying a newer younger audience without losing the faithful followers. John has addressed the national conventions of: ICAS, NHRA, Racing Promoters Monthly (RPM), the Canadian National Rodeo Association (CNRA), The International Festivals and Events, (from which he received his Certified Festival and Event Executive (CFEE) credentials, and The International Association of Fairs and Expos (IAFE).

John resides in Conroe, Texas with his wife of 38 years, Beverly. They have two grown children, and 4 grandchildren.

Christopher Van Stelle

MCAS MIRAMAR AIR SHOW

If there's an aviation event in Southern California, Christopher is typically involved and consults on numerous aviation events each year.

Christopher is currently the Director of the MCAS Miramar Air Show and the Director of the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum. He is Vice President of the Southwest Council of Air Shows, a Regional Council of the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) and consults on numerous aviation events around Southern California each year including SBD Fest and others. He's the Executive Director and Air Show Director for Air Show San Diego, and had previously assisted on the: MCAS Miramar Air Show, Hangar 24 Air Fest, and USAF Davis-Mothan Air Shows.

As a Pilot, he's planned and executed numerous aviation events including Commemorative Flyovers for the: Holiday Bowl, San Diego Padres, USS Midway Museum, and Borrego Days Annual Festival, as well as, on-camera performances for Travel Channel's "Ultimate Road Trips" series. Additionally, Christopher produces FlyDays!, a monthly community outreach event with vintage airplanes, classic cars, live music and great food and planned and executed multiple high-visibility events in the San Diego region utilizing expertise in project / program management, risk management, executive presentations, media relations, and public speaking including Jerry Coleman commemoration, ESPN opening day of the San Diego Padres / Los Angeles Dodgers, Holiday Bowl, Junior World Golf Championship, and the North County Veterans Stand Down.

On the Educational side, he has coordinated between the military and various organizations within the San Diego region highlighting the importance of the A-STEM (Aviation, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs and aviation history. Established and maintained liaisons with San Diego Air and Space Museum, USS Midway Museum, Miramar Air Show, Blue Angels, Breitling Jet Team, Skydiving Innovations, San Diego Antique Aircraft Association, and City / County of San Diego leadership. Led aviation safety, risk management matters and project management for multiple events.

Outside the Aviation industry, Christopher was an Executive in the Financial Services Industry and has sat on the Board of several non-profit Organizations.

Currently residing, surviving and freezing in New Hampshire, Ed served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 27 years where he flew the A6-E Intruder as a Naval Flight Officer (NFO).

As the Deputy Operations Officer, he served as air show coordinator for MCAS El Toro for the 1993-1997 Air Shows, then transferred to MCAS Miramar, San Diego, where he became the Air Show Director for MCAS Miramar Air Show from 1998-2016.

Ed retired from USMC September 2000 and his Civil Service job April 2016, after 43 years of dedicated government service. He has been a SWCAS member since it was chartered in 1993, and board member from 1996-present.

Angela Terry

CALIFORNIA CAPITAL AIR SHOW

Angela Terry is using the power and magic of flight to inspire the next generation to do great things!

She is the Director of Operations for the California Capital Airshow located at Mather Airport in Sacramento, CA. Angela joined the CCA team five years ago to take the nonprofit organization to the next level. A credentialed teacher with a Communications degree, she brings a unique viewpoint to the Airshow. She has developed a variety of hands-on STEM learning opportunities including ‘Career Day at the Airport’ and ‘STEM Expo’. Angela’s experience also includes website management, ticket platform administration, logistics, contract management, performer hospitality and so much more.

Angela is involved with a variety of youth-focused organizations and strives to make a difference in every child’s life through aviation and STEM.

She resides in Rancho Cordova, California with her husband of 10 years Donald and two children; Keaton, age 8 and Holden, age 4.

Anthony Oshinuga

Air Show Performer

              

 

Anthony Oshinuga, a college graduate from the University of California Riverside is a dedicated Aviator, Athlete, Engineer, and Entrepreneur who resides in Southern California. Anthony owns a flight touring business called AirOshi, an aerial scenic wine touring business that provides clients with tours in sunny Southern California. When he is not working, he dedicates all of his energy to aerobatic competition & Air Show flying. His goal is to compete at the highest level and someday become a Red Bull Air Race pilot.

He is a relative newcomer to the sport of aerobatics and it’s exciting to see the progress he has made in such a short time. His disciplined work ethic and raw talent have helped him to improve by leaps and bounds over the last year and will continue propel him in the years to come. In 2014, he placed 4th at the US National Aerobatic Competition out of 10 in his category. In 2015 & 2016 he raced at the National Championship Air Races located in Reno Nevada and placed 2nd two consecutive times.

Now, as Anthony ramps up for his next season, he would like to remind all those out there that anything is possible if you put your mind to it no matter how big the goal!

Gale Rawitzer

Gale Rawitzer is a member of both ICAS and the (EAC) European Airshow Council and has been passionate about the air show industry since 1981. For 32 years he has been involved with the California International Air Show in Salinas providing his expertise from Ground & Air Operations, President, Board of Director, and Professional Air Boss. In 1997 he met and later married Kathy Eby, Project Specialist & International Trainer, who also fell in love with Gale’s air show family. Now they both participate in the industry, and since have visited over 150 air shows around the world to learn ‘best practices’ on organization and air show safety.

For the last 16 years Gale has provided Professional Air Boss Services for large, medium, and small air shows around North America. Gale and Kathy’s passion and work in the air show industry, has evolved into their company...Air Boss Advantage.
